There is something special in the air around Barrhaven as the holiday season approaches. Excitement is building for the holidays and as we get ready for the snow to fall on Strandherd Drive, Barrhaven residents know that our neighbours need a little extra help, and hope, to finish 2024.
For the volunteers at the Barrhaven Food Cupboard, the work continues as we consistently serve close to 600 families a month. But we also feel the added pressure this time of year as we haven’t yet hit our fundraising goal! We rely heavily on fundraising in November and December to keep our doors open (it actually accounts for almost 40% of our annual income).
We still need to raise $170,000 to finish out the 2024 year strong.
